On Thursday, January 5th, I’ll be leading a one-night adventure/travel writing workshop with the Seattle Mountaineers. Here’s their event listing:

We’re very excited to be hosting IMG mountain guide and adventure writer Charlotte Austin for a one-night writing workshop. Whether you’re an experienced author, part-time blogger, or curious novice, this class will give you a glimpse into the wide world of travel writing.

Charlotte will share some readings from her extensive portfolio, then we’ll enjoy a lecture, an engaging writing exercise, and practical tips and suggestions on how to edit, refine, and publish your unique stories.

Advance-purchase tickets are $12 for Mountaineers members and $15 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at the door on a space-available basis for $20, but space is limited so reserve your spot now.

I’m thrilled to be working with the Mountaineers, a 501(c)3 nonprofit outdoor community with more than 12,000 active members of all ages in the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1906, they’ve been getting people of all ages outside safely and responsibly for over 100 years. Their mission statement is “…to explore and enjoy the mountains, forests and waterways of the Northwest and beyond; to document the history and traditions of this region and explorations; to preserve, by the encouragement of protective legislation or otherwise, the natural beauty of our environment; to encourage a spirit of good fellowship among the lovers of outdoor life; to hold and sustain landscapes, properties and program sites for the furtherance of the purposes of the organization; and to create opportunities for our community to fulfill of the above purposes.”

We’ll be meeting from 6:30-9:30pm at 7700 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle, Washington.
